Types of irrigation systems used in greenhouses
1. Water by hand
2. Perimeter irrigation system
3. Pipe irrigation system
4. Drip irrigation system
5. Overhead spraying system
6. Ebb and flow system
MANUAL IRRIGATION IRRIGATION SYSTEM USED IN GREENHOUSES
□ Expensive but common and expensive system.
□ generally adopted where labor is cheap.
□ common practices in nurseries and potted plants
□ Takes more time
PERIMETER WATERING SYSTEM USED IN GREENHOUSE

□ Pipes run around the perimeter of a bench with a nozzle that sprays water on the surface of the middle root under the foliage. Therefore, this system is suitable for the production of fresh flowers.
TUBER IRRIGATION SYSTEM USED IN GREENHOUSES
□ This system is mainly used for watering pots. Pipes with or without nozzle are used.

DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM USED IN GREENHOUSE
□ Very suitable for greenhouses and open field conditions with or without mulch, 50-70% water saving, uniform distribution of water and other components.
□ The PVC pipe is used for the distribution of water from the main source to the sub-chains.
□ Chlorine is an also a another chemical which is added to the water to kill bacteria and algae.
□ Acid treatment is also necessary to dissolve the calcium carbonate.
OVERHEAD SPRAYING SYSTEM
□ Greenhouse crops can be irrigated more easily and economically from the roof. In this case, the tubes are hung on the plant 60 cm to 180 cm above the plants. The nozzles are attached to the pipes at 360 degrees. Care must be taken that the water is of good quality and properly filtered so that these nozzles are not clogged.

Sub irrigation system, for pots and bedding plants.
□ Surface system: - the application of water on the surface of the substrate. eg manual irrigation, drip irrigation, micro sprinkler.
□ overhead system: - application of irrigation water. the top of the crop or foliage. Example of irrigation, fog and mist system and boom system.
□ Subsoil system: - application of water to the base of the root area and relief from capillary action or flooding to bring water to the root area. Example of subterranean submersion, flooded channels, trays and flooded floor.
● THE DROP IRRITATION SYSTEM CONSISTS OF STORAGE
water tank and source, control unit, pump, check valve, illusion kit, filter, pressure regulator, water meter valve (if irrigation is automatic the solenoid valve must be used) main line, Sat main line and side emitters. Various sizes are available in a wide range and must be selected according to the type of cultivation technique.
Some of the following are
1. Puch in issuers and incorporated issuers.
2. Emitters with discharge characteristics
3. Anti-drip emitters.
4. Emitters have multiple outputs.
FILTERS
□ Depending on the type of water, different types of filters can be used.
GRAVEL FILTERS
It is used for the filtration of water obtained with an open candle and a tank contaminated by organic impurities, algae, etc. The filtration of the base is carried out by means of basalt or quartz beds.
Hydrocyclone
It is used to filter well or river water that carries sand particles.
DISC FILTERS
It is used to remove fine particles suspended in water.
DISPLAY FILTERS
120 mesh (0.1-3mm) stainless steel screen. It is used for the filtration of second stage irrigation water.
IMPORTANT POINTS: -
■Slow Release Dry Fertilizer Liquid fertilizers and fertilizers are commonly used in greenhouses.
■Slow release fertilizer should never be added to the soil before steaming or reheating it.
■Heat the plastic liner and release all the fertilizer to the root center at once. high acidity would burn the root zone.
