 Hose pipes in horticulture


A garden hose, hose, or just a hose is a flexible hose used to carry water. There are several common hose end accessories, such as sprinklers and sprinklers (used to concentrate water in one spot or distribute it over a large area). Hoses generally connect to a faucet or faucet.

 (i) Percolating / Unlined / canvas pipes made with vegetable fibers.

(ii) Non-percolating tube in plastic material that forms both the lining and the external lining. These are not porous in nature.


(iii) Controlled percolation tube consisting of a liner woven from plant fibers and having a rubber / plastic coating.


2) Suction pipe: they are connected to the suction side of the pump. These are subject to a higher or lower pressure than atmospheric pressure.

3) Hose reel Flexible hose: they are made of reinforced rubber with a swivel joint fixed on a reel. A squeeze nozzle is provided at one end.

Uses of Hose pipe in horticulture:-

The pipes can be used in water or other liquid environments, or to carry air or other gases. Hoses are used to transport fluids through air or fluid environments and are typically used with clamps, fittings, flanges, and nozzles to control fluid flow.


 5 main uses of pipes in horticulture



1. A garden hose is used to water plants in a garden or lawn, or to bring water to a sprinkler for the same purpose.

2. A sturdy hose is used to irrigate agricultural crops for drip irrigation.

3. Firefighters use a fire hose to transport water to the fire site.

4. Air hoses are used in scuba diving to transport air from a surface compressor or air tanks. (See also snorkeling.) Industrial uses for operating flexible machinery and bench tools such as pneumatic screwdrivers, grinders, staplers, etc.

5. A hose is a flexible hollow tube designed to carry fluids from one place to another. Tubes are also sometimes referred to as tubes (the word tube generally refers to a rigid tube, while a tube is usually flexible) or generally tube. The shape of a tube is usually cylindrical (with a circular cross section).
